Anna’s Story

Anna Yan Ji Arabia of North Adams, MA, USA was diagnosed with Gliomatosis Cerebri at age 13 and was treated for over three years at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Anna’s treatment
included surgery, radiation, Temodar, Avastin, and other investigational drugs, as well as four
clinical trials. She became our angel at age 16 on Valentine’s Day 2013.

Anna loved helping others and was able to turn her most difficult challenges into ways to help
others. We continue her love of helping others by creating the AYJ Fund to support children
with cancer.

The mission of the AYJ Fund is to bring smiles to kids with cancer, to keep them connected to
friends and school through technology, and to find a cure for Gliomatosis Cerebri and other
brain tumors.

The AYJ Fund actively works to keep families connected, participates in monthly international
conference calls of GC families, and the GC Connections Facebook page, and supported the
development of the Gliomatosis Cerebri Global website and the GC Registry. The AYJ Fund was
a sponsor of and participated in each of the International Gliomatosis Cerebri Conferences to
bring physicians and researchers together and to collaborate to move research forward.

The AYJ Fund has supported GC research at Dana-Farber, Weill Cornell, the Institute of Cancer
Research and the National Institutes of Health. We are committed to continuing to advocate, to
fund critical research to increase the knowledge of GC and to move effective treatments
forward.
