Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center

The Weill Cornell Pediatric Brain and Spine Center, directed by Dr. Mark M. Souweidane is a place to go to for individuals suffering from brain tumors among other sicknesses. The center takes a multidisciplinary approach for each child undergoing treatment, that is they take into account not only the disease at its current state but also the lifetime implications.
Embodied in their program for pediatric neurosurgery are;
-
- a preparatory guide for parents their child’s neurosurgical procedure
- pre-surgical tour for the kid’s stay in the hospital
- parent-to-parent program
- child-life under the care of child specialist to ease the stress of hospitalization and surgical procedures
This perspective offers pediatric neurosurgery patients the best opportunity to enjoy a normal transition from child to adult.
